About Me…

I’m a software engineer based in Galway, working for a telecommunications company. I have worked with various technologies, Java, Ruby on Rails, PHP, (X)HTML, XML, CSS and Javascript. Java is my main language. I have been working with Ruby (on Rails) in my spare time for the past few years.

For web projects I use Ruby on Rails in conjunction with Capistrano, Blueprint CSS and Git, the tools used for developing www.hospitalpages.ie . I’ve been using Git for a few years, having used both Subversion and Clearcase previously. Git gets my vote.

On past projects I used Joomla, Zen Cart and Drupal. I’m currently working on an extension to the Ruby (on Rails) based Spree Commerce to allow for content migration from Zen Cart to Spree Commerce.

In spare time I do a bit of cycling and general roaming.
